DAE → USDZ: what you should know
DAE is Collada, the open XML 3D interchange format driven by Khronos. It's used mostly in interchange between legacy tools, SketchUp, older engines, digital museum archives, and it stores geometry, scene, materials, referenced textures and animations in XML. USDZ, on the other hand, is Apple's augmented-reality format, based on Pixar's Universal Scene Description — the format expected by AR on iPhone/iPad (Quick Look), product pages with view-in-your-space, iOS/visionOS.
This tool converts your DAE files to USDZ right in the browser: no queue, no artificial size limit and, above all, your file is never uploaded to any server. Geometry is preserved with the exact coordinates and scale of the original — important if the model is going to be printed or measured.
Converting DAE to USDZ loses nothing that matters: what goes in is what comes out, in the format you need.
